Hi Adam, Your posts are quite helpful.

I am just wondering what is the reason that you don't break tangents handles at touchdowns. I have been thinking that broken handles are reasonable but could you possibly let me know why you don't use them?

Sajuro...I used to do it too....but apparently Pixar is anti this and in fact....their software doesn't allow one to break tangents in such a way. I'll ask again for clarification..but if I recall correctly it's about pulling out the handles...yeah...you get a slight slow-in at the point of the bounce...but since it's over a frame you can't tell. Basically...just tweak those handles and add in a key if needed for better control. I think breaking the tangents and pulling them apart gives you less control...will confirm soon.

Hey Adam

Yeah I can understand why Pixar may not do this, but I don;t see any problem in breaking handles at all. As you say some software doens;t allow this (mostly propriatry like at Pixar and Dreamworks) but Maya Max cinema ect all have this option. Infact when you start AM all of the mentors will tell you to break the handles for your ball bouncing assignment. It is even in the lecture too. As you are ware there are many many ways to block in your animation and you just have to find the correct way for you. If breaking tangents is available then I would use it without a doubt.
